You should be attracting investors to you.

May 31, 2023

If you’re a startup founder seeking VC, you should be attracting investors to you.

But not by sending unsolicited in-mails or emails. That’s just spam.

No one likes getting these, and they never work.

Instead you should be creating daily content on LinkedIn and attracting future investors to you.

You have a story to tell. So tell it through your daily content on LI.

If you are a founder, you are the brand.

This is called demand generation. It’s how you drive traffic to your LI profile page and/or website when you are attracting new customers.

Just do the same thing with investors.

It’s how I attract like-minded LPs every month. I write one post a day (like this one), and that drives over 12,000 investors/founders to my site every month.

My calendar gets packed with meetings with this one demand generation strategy alone.

By the time I meet with someone, they’ve already been reading my daily content for quite some time. They already know my story.

But do I meet with everyone? No. I have a lead generation strategy on my site that does a great job of vetting meetings beforehand.

Lot’s of VCs desperate for LPs send unsolicited in-mails or emails, just like founders.

No bueno.

The same RevOps strategy used to land new customers should be used to attract investors.
