What You Don’t Know Is Sabotaging Your Success

Feb 23, 2022

James 1:5 NIV - If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

What you "don’t know" is sabotaging your success.

Whatever problems you are facing, the reason you haven’t been able to solve them is because you don’t know how to solve them.

If you did, the problem would be solved.

Have you heard this famous saying?

- There are known knowns — there are things we know we know.

- We also know there are known unknowns — that is to say, we know there are some things we do not know.

- But there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don’t know we don’t know.

Beware of the unknown unknowns. Even the Bible makes this same warning.

>> Hosea 4:6 NIV - My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge ... because you have rejected knowledge …

If you have a business that’s not producing revenue, there’s only one reason. You don’t know how to generate revenue. If you did, you'd have the revenue.

If you are a new entrepreneur trying to launch and monetize your business idea, but you can’t seem to launch, you don’t know how. If you did, you’d already be launched.

If you are trying to find a job, but after much time you can’t seem to land one, you don’t know how. If you knew how, you’d already have one.

Let’s look at some important areas of our lives.

- Our Faith
- Our Purpose
- Our Finances
- Our Health
- Our Relationships
- Our Careers

We all want to prosper and be successful in each of these areas.

But if you are struggling to be successful in any of these areas, it’s only because you don’t know how to be successful. If you did, you’d already be successful in each of these areas.

Tired of the struggle? Do this first.

>> Admit you lack the know-how to be successful in the areas you are struggling. Like the scriptures point out, you have a lack of knowledge. Admit it.

If you can’t admit this — then you are struggling with pride.

Proverbs 16:18 NIV - Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.

If you have pride, God will actually oppose you. Not good! (1 Peter 5:5)

Why am I pressing this so hard?

Because what you don’t know is sabotaging your success.

I’ve worked in business turnarounds for the last two decades. When a business is struggling, it’s because the CEO is facing a problem he or she doesn’t know how to fix. If they did, the problems would cease.

But once you can admit this, you can focus on learning how ... to get the know-how.

** When you can't admit it, you repeat the same mistakes.

Whatever you are struggling with, God actually already has the solution.

And He promises to give you the wisdom to solve any problem.

>> James 1:5 NIV - If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

When any part of your live is not successful, turn to this biblical promise, FIRST.

If you approach God with a humble heart and learning obedience, He gives you the wisdom … the knowledge … to establish you plans and steps.

The ADMIT is powerful.
