The Two Playbooks Every Faith-Driven Founder Needs
Oct 11, 2025Hey Founder,
Every faith-driven founder operates from two playbooks — whether they realize it or not:
A Startup Playbook that determines your results in business
A Spiritual Playbook that determines your results in life
Both are connected.
And if one’s off, the other will eventually break down.
Because here’s the truth: you can have the best strategy in the world, but if it’s not aligned with what God established — you’re just building noise.
This week at Startup Church, we unpacked what it looks like to align both playbooks so that heaven can actually bless your hustle.
1️⃣ Your Startup Playbook is Producing Results — Good or Bad
Hook: “If your P&L could talk… what would it say about your playbook?”
Every founder has a playbook — whether they’ve written it down or not.
It’s the invisible system that governs how you think, act, and execute.
That playbook is producing results right now.
The question is: are they good or bad?
For pre-revenue startups, your playbook (or lack of one) determines everything:
→ Whether you ever reach product-market fit
→ Whether investors take you seriously
→ Whether your trajectory leads to $1M, $10M, or $100M
Over 90% of startups never even hit $1M.
Not because they didn’t work hard — but because they worked from the wrong playbook.
This week, we broke down what the right startup playbook looks like — the one that actually attracts customers and capital.
2️⃣ That’s Not Bad Luck — That’s Bad TDR
Hook: “It’s not the devil. It’s your data.”
Most founders blame luck, timing, or investors.
But 99% of the time, the problem isn’t external — it’s internal.
It’s their TDR:
→ The way they Think
→ The way they Do
→ The Results they get
Change your TDR, change your outcomes.
Because Scripture already said it:
“As a man thinketh, so is he.” — Proverbs 23:7
This is where your spiritual playbook comes in.
It’s not just mindset — it’s renewing your mind daily through the Word.
When your spiritual playbook aligns your thoughts, your startup playbook will finally produce fruit.
3️⃣ Who’s Establishing Your Plans?
Hook: “You can hustle all you want — but if God didn’t establish it, it’s just noise.”
You can write your startup playbook all day long — but if your spiritual playbook isn’t guiding it, you’re on your own.
Proverbs 16:3 says:
“Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
Proverbs 16:9 adds:
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.”
So while your startup playbook determines your plans, your spiritual playbook determines your steps.
When He establishes it, He sustains it.
That’s how you move from hustle to heaven’s momentum.
