The Path To Your Promised Land

Jan 14, 2022

Deuteronomy 8:7-9 NIV - For the Lord your God is bringing you into a good land—a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills; a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey; a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing; a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills.

So where are you on your roadtrip to your destiny, AKA your promised land?

I can't wait till you get there, it's an awesome place.

- it's a good land

- a land with brooks, streams, and deep springs gushing out into the valleys and hills

- a land with wheat and barley, vines and fig trees, pomegranates, olive oil and honey

- a land where bread will not be scarce and you will lack nothing

- a land where the rocks are iron and you can dig copper out of the hills

Oh, and when you get there and are eating from the good land God has given you, be careful not to forget God, be careful to continue following His commands when you get busy building your fine homes and settling into your paradise.

It such a blessed place where everything you touch is multiplied. The Lord your God has chosen you out of all the peoples on the face of the earth to be His people, His treasured possession. Your promised land is your destiny, what God has promised for you so you may live and increase and may enter and possess what He has planned for you.

So have you gone through the desert part yet?

It's on the way to your promised land, it's right before you get there. But be careful, whatever you do, don't get lost in the desert, stay on the path God has you on. It's leads right to your destiny.

Don't take shortcuts, they lead to nowhere. Many have tried to take these shortcuts that lead to nowhere, and when they get there, they build monuments of nothingness. So many have died in the desert trying to escape it, instead of letting Jesus establish their steps.

It's perfectly normal to get a flat tire in the desert. If you get stuck there, remember, it's temporary. You might have to pitch a tent there for a little while, but whatever you do, don't settle and try and build your house there on the sand. The foundation is lousy, it will get destroyed in the desert storms.

The desert part of the journey is tricky. You will be tested over and over. The fire of the tests will drive out your impurities. Pride will depart and will be replaced with humility. This is God's way of checking your heart to see if you will still follow Him through the rough parts and in the very good times. Your faith will grow exponentially. When you actually plant that small mustard seed of faith into God's soil, it will grow into an enormous harvest of blessings, God's very best for you.

You will grow strong and courageous.

The desert experience is your Destiny Boot Camp. It's where believers become Christ-followers. Where they become marketplace disciples who learn how to disciple nations. Yep, a disciple must learn how to disciple. That's God's great commission for you.

Many believers thought they were on a cruise ship when they signed up. In the desert you'll find out you are on a battleship, that you are in the army of the Lord. That your assignment is to take territory for the Kingdom of God.

Don't be shocked when you get your deployment papers from God. This is your first assignment. There's a Jericho in your future.

So if you're traveling through the desert part of your journey right now, how do you get to your destiny? Keep following Jesus. But what if you've gotten stuck in the desert? Well it's all part of God's plan. He has a plan to get you out. It's God's plan and purpose for your life. But how can you find out what that plan is? It's all in His Word. Mediate on it day and night. The Holy Spirit will teach you everything you need to know. He will send helpers to mentor and guide you. Kingdom sherpas.

But somewhere along your journey you will run into a great obstacle, and without a miracle from God, you will be doomed. Whatever you do, don't turn around, and for Pete's sake don't try to take a shortcut. There is no shortcut.

The Miracle-Maker will show up at the very last minute and make a way for you. He might move a mountain or part a mighty river, somebody hold God's Pepsi, He's got this. He is your Way-Maker!

He is ...

Your Jehovah-Jireh ... the God who provides

Your Jehovah-Rapha ... the God who heals

Your Jehovah-Shalom ... the God of peace

Your Jehova-Nissi ... the God who's your banner

Your Jehovah-Tsidkenu ... the God of your righteousness

Your Jeshovah-Raah ... the God who is your shepherd

Your Jehovah-Shammah ... The God who is always present

If the sea couldn't stop Moses, and the wall couldn't stop Joshua, and a giant couldn't stop David, and death couldn't stop Jesus — then nothing can stop you from entering into your destiny, your promised land.

But realize this, the path to your destiny is through the desert.

The Force Is With You!
