What a promise ... He holds success in store for the upright.
Proverbs 2:7 NIV is a biblical promise for all Christ-followers. Depending on the translation, you'll find it uses the words "success" or "wisdom", they are interchangeable.
In God's eyes, wisdom is success. And He offers it exclusively to His children, us. 100% of God's children are upright or righteous is His eyes. God sees us through the lens of Jesus.
What required from us? That we ask in faith. The same promise is available in the book of James 1:5-7 NIV ...
- if any of you lacks wisdom
- you should ask God
- who gives generously to all without finding fault
- it will be given to you
But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.
If you are failing in any area of your life, seek God's wisdom and/or success. Read the whole chapters of Proverbs 2 and 3 for the instructions.
