God's In It To Win It — With You

Dec 23, 2021

1 Corinthians 9:24 AMP - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run [their very best to win], but only one receives the prize? Run [your race] in such a way that you may seize the prize and make it yours!

Are you in it to win it? Even when life's not working out the way you planned it?

This year I am SIX ZERO, the big 60, in my 30th year of marriage to my beautiful wife Leslie, and in my 37th year as a serial entrepreneur. If you've ever read what I've written, you already know I am pretty transparent and unfiltered. I call life as I see it, feeling more free to share my ideas, opinions and experiences as I get older. Perhaps I'm boomer-splaining.

For a lot of people, 2021 wasn't their best year. They feel beat up and exhausted. But despite all that, God gives us some great advice on how to succeed no matter what you've just gone through.

Instead of being moved by your feelings, be moved into action by this truth. God is in it to win it — with you!

At our house, wallowing in self-pity is not allowed. Anytime I allow my feelings to get the best of me, my beautiful wife Leslie instructs me to go down to Home Depot, buy a ladder, and get over it. Suck it up, put on by big-boy pants and move on.

And more importantly, be in it to win it. That means understanding my purpose (my marketplace calling), getting in total alignment with God, and then running the race to win it.

1 Corinthians 9:24 AMP - Do you not know that in a race all the runners run [their very best to win], but only one receives the prize? Run [your race] in such a way that you may seize the prize and make it yours!

Every Christ-follower who's trying to live a Godly life will by persecuted. In other words, LIFE happens to all of us, both good and bad seasons. (2 Timothy 3:12)

So no matter what life season you are in, the scriptures command us to endure the hardship, and do the work of an evangelist. Remember, if you are a Christ-follower, you are a marketplace disciple, and a disciple — disciples. (2 Timothy 4:5)

Assume God is in it to win it — with you. Because He is. Then run your race with this attitude. Attitude really controls your altitude. It's not just a clever saying, it's biblical truth. Refuse to be a thermometer, be a thermostat. That's how you control outcomes.

As we make the turn into 2022, set your dreams and goals with the outlook that God is in it to win it — with you. Refuse to allow your feelings to control your outlook. Our feelings are overrated, they go up and down based on what we see, hear and feel. They are real, just not real accurate.

I know this is a bit of tough-love, trust me, the love I have for you is real. Some of you need a kick in the back-side to get out of your funk. This is about being disciplined and exercising self-control of your thought-life and your actions.

Don't try to do this on will-power. You will fail. Do this on Word power.

Find 10 biblical promises that you will stand on for 2022. Consume the Word of God daily. This will be your most vital meal of the day. Many of you have asked me to pray for you and your businesses daily. I'm in it to win it with you too!

If you'd like to get added to my prayer list, just let me know.

As we move into 2022, let's be strong and courageous, let's not be afraid or discouraged, instead let's meditate on God's Word day and night, then we will be prosperous and successful. (Joshua 1)

Merry Christmas,
Gerald
