Disrupting An IndustryJan 18, 2023
When I'm creating an entirely new marketplace, there are few cheerleaders.
All disrupters can expect the same treatment IF you're slightly early ... on purpose.
When I begin to disrupt an industry, the so-called industry elites will think I'm chasing an impossible pipe dream.
Yet I don't care.
Mostly because they've become complacent. Too comfortable to see what I see.
Every venture I've ever launched or funded, has started as a vision to disrupt the status quo, and the idea has always come from God.
His ideas never fail. Nor do His plans.
Here's what I've learned to endure.
In the beginning, there will be talking heads who voice their negative opinions, mostly behind my back.
To me, it's just noise.
Fast-forward a couple of years and the same critics now sing "what a genius!" "So brilliant!"
To me, it's still noise.
Here's what I have learned. Once I start, I never quit.
I might pivot, but I never throw in the towel when the going gets tough.
I endure. I perfect.
I have a deep commitment and will work as long as it takes to see the vision through.
If you are a faith driven founder disrupting an industry, at some point you have to stop listening to what others have to say.
Just focus on what God has called you to do. This will be your most powerful weapon against failure.
When you feel like throwing in the towel, use it to wipe off your face, then get back to work.
When you pursue God's Plan A, there is no Plan B.
