3 Truths About God's Plan For You

Dec 15, 2021

Ephesians 2:10 AMP

For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

There are Three Truths that have changed my life.

  1. The fact that God has a master plan and purpose for my life.
  2. That He will always reveal His plans for me, to me.
  3. That no person or thing can stop His plan and purpose for me — except me should I decide not to participate in His Plan.

Let that soak in. If God already has a plan, there's never a plan B. And His plan A is always to prosper me. I don't have to go through life guessing, He promises to reveal His plans for me, to me. And lastly, if I'm walking in His plan, I can't fail. Nothing can stop God's plan for me.

I've been helping people identify and fulfill God's plan and purpose for their lives for over three decades. Most people, including me, sought out God's plan and purpose for their lives when life didn't work out the way they planned it. Most had found themselves stuck between life seasons trying to connect the dots between business, purpose, success and faith.

There are many scriptures and biblical promises about God's plan and purpose for your life. These are two of my favorites.

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV - For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Ephesians 2:10 AMP - For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].

When life throws a curveball my way, I find great solace knowing that God has a plan and it's to prosper me. That I am His workmanship and God considers me His work of art.

While most Christ-followers believe God has a plan and purpose for their lives, only 20 percent can tell you what it is. Isn't that strange?

I think the light-bulb moment for most is when it dawns on them that if God actually has a plan and purpose for their life, then why don't they know what it is? Many have confused their roles in life (father, husband, wife mother, etc...) with God's assignments and marketplace calling. Roles are important, but God has greater purpose for all of us.

God's plan and purpose for your life will always connect you directly with the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19.

Let me encourage you today with this, if you feel like you have missed the bus, another one's coming right now, get on it. God has a plan and purpose for every season of your life.

For me, success is identifying and fulfilling God's plan and purpose for my life. Nothing less. Nothing more.
